Water resource funding awarded to Norfolk
State Rep. Shawn Dooley, R- Norfolk, has helped secure a $25,000 grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) for Norfolk.
The funding will be put toward integrating water smart planning and practices in town.
The grant was awarded as a part of the Baker-Polito Administraton’s Water Management Act (WMA) Grant Program, which aims to help maintain and improve the Commonwealth’s water resources by providing funds for watershed planning projects, demand management, and minimization and mitigation activities for water withdrawal impacts.
“I am so pleased to have helped secure this critical funding for Norfolk’s water management plans,” Dooley said. “As we continue to develop our community and our Commonwealth, it is important to be mindful of our water resources and work towards conserving them for generations to come. This funding will go a long way towards achieving that goal.”
