State Rep. Shawn Dooley, R-Norfolk, in partnership with the Massachusetts Office on Disability (MOD), is hosting two emergency preparedness seminars for Norfolk, Wrentham, and Plainville seniors and disabled citizens.
The seminars are scheduled as follows:
Plainville - Wednesday, May 1, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at the Plainville Senior Center, 9 School St., Plainville.
Norfolk & Wrentham: Tuesday, June 4, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Norfolk Senior Center, 28 Medway Branch Road, Norfolk.
The seminars will cover how seniors and disabled citizens can find the assistance they need in times of emergency. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the emergency response resources and procedures within their local communities and the steps that can be taken personally to prepare for emergency situations. They will also receive free courtesy “Emergency Go-Packs” from MOD.
Pre-registration is available by calling either the Plainville Senior Center at 508-699-7384, the Norfolk Senior Center at 508-528-4430, or the Wrentham Senior Center at 508-384-5425.
“Providing some of our most vulnerable citizens with the tools, training, and resources to help them in an emergency has been a focus of mine throughout my tenure as state representative. I am thrilled that I was able to coordinate with the state to have ‘Emergency Go Packs’ provided for all who attend,” said Dooley.
