Representative Dooley July 16th COVID-19th Update

July 16, 2020

Long day so going to be really quick as I can barely keep my eyes open. I did have a great meeting with some of the interns on my campaign team tonight. I can’t tell you how impressed I am at how bright and engaged these young people are. I am so truly blessed to have them as a part of the team for this year’s election. And FYI : they are young, high school and college - just giving a heads up in case someone wants to complain about young people being active in government again this year.

11 more people passed away who had been infected with the virus. The 20 person increase in hospitalizations from yesterday was offset by a decline of 23 today. All of the other metrics stayed on track.

Working on a letter with fellow Republicans pushing back on the immunity portion of the senate police bill. I’m not ever surprised by the crazy things that come out of Beacon Hill but I can’t imagine that aspect will survive. If you are reading this and I’m not your rep - please write or call your rep and tell them to vote against any bill that takes away police immunity or puts them further in harms way. They need to hear from everyone very loudly. The Governor’s bill increases training, creates certification, punishes and removes bad cops. That is what we need. Not an end of the police.

Well, tomorrow is Friday! Lol. I only know that because I don’t have to wake up at 5:30 to bring a kid to a program. So sleeping in - so no calls before 7 please. I still do live the rockstar lifestyle.

Have a great Friday

Shawn
