Representative Dooley July 13th COVID-19 Update
I hope everyone had a great day today and didn’t get caught in any of the showers. Thank you of everyone who weighed in on the chickens - so far no baby chicks have arrived although one never knows (especially me) what will happen at the Dooley Van Tine ranch.
Well, not 0 but only 5 reported deaths today so we are continuing the downward trend. It’s a Monday so typically skew lower but it is positive news. Surge capacity has dropped back down and our rolling three day average of fatalities (after a brief incline last week) has reached its all time low since we started tracking these stats. All good numbers.
Spoke with my contact at Pfizer this morning and he informed me that the FDA granted Fast Track designation to two of the four investigational vaccine candidates from their vaccine program being developed to help protect against COVID-19. If the ongoing studies are successful and the vaccine candidate receives regulatory approval, we expect to manufacture up to 100M doses by year-end and potentially more than 1.2B doses by the end of 2021.
While I realize that is a long way off - every bit of good news gives me hope. We have so many crazy smart doctors and scientists out there - and I pray they are up to the task.
Crazy day tomorrow so early to bed tonight. Thank you all for all of your love and support!
