Representative Dooley May 30th COVID-19 Update
A beautiful Saturday filled with yard work, bike rides, hanging with the family, and cleaning the garage. Doesn’t get much better than that - heck even cleaning the garage was cathartic. I hope everyone got out and enjoyed the sunshine.
Reported deaths today were 50 and 789 new positive cases were reported over the past 24 hours. Over the past 2 days nearly 210 less hospitalizations and ICU beds are down to 453. These numbers continue their downward trend and only 7% of ICU beds are now currently occupied - which is amazing.
Fraud and abuse continues to plague our unemployment system - so if you suspect that a claim has been taken out in your name - please report it immediately to your local police as well as to the state here:
Because of these attacks, there may be delays in payments as they are working on verifying each claimant’s identity. If you have a problem, please let me know and I will work to expedite your verification. Please be patient - I know that is hard when you are needing the money, but I will do everything I can to resolve it.
I’m working on an opinion piece on the Governor’s restaurant opening plan - spoiler alert: I’m against it as it once again picks winner’s and losers. Hopefully I will have that finished tomorrow and will share it on here and hopefully the Governor reads it and makes some adjustments to his plan.
Keep up the good work and enjoy the last day of May! How is that possible? It still seems like April. The important thing is that we all still doing everything we can to continue minimizing the spread. I know many of you are as frustrated as I am - but it won’t be much longer. Either that or we're going to have to really begin pushing back and let the Governor know that we can’t be treated like children - we are smart and we will make the right decisions to help our friends and neighbors.
