Millis was first settled in 1657 and is a friendly and family-oriented suburban town located about 45 minutes from the City of Boston. 


Millis holds strong academic and athletic traditions. Millis was awarded the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2007. Additionally, in 2006, The schools were tied for first in the state, along with Boston Latin School, for English MCAS scores. 

In terms of athletics, the Millis Girls Volleyball, Soccer, and Basketball teams all won the 2008 Division 3 State Championships. The football team also boasts two straight Division 8 State Championships

Highlights of what Shawn has done for Millis:

  • $100,000 for a new public safety radio tower

  • $60,000 for the renovation of the Millis High School auditorium

  • $50,000 for the purchase of a new van for senior citizen transportation

  • $5,000 Municipal Energy Technical Assistance (META) grant from the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) to Millis

  • $44,742 for Stormwater Utility Feasibility Analysis

  • Sustainable Materials Recovery Program (SMRP) grants from Mass. Dept. of Environmental Protection

  • $45,500 for financial management efficiency improvements at the Town Hall and in Millis Schools

  • $100,000 for the repair of the Millis/Medfield Dover Road and West Street Bridge

  • $100,000 for the conducting of a building and facilities study

  • $35,000 for the conducting of a feasibility study for building a new senior center in Millis

  • $10,000 for adaptive camp programming for children and adults with special needs

  • $15,000 for IT improvements
